The Mayan Elixir Organic Cacao Shell Tea comes in a resealable bag that holds 15 pyramid‑shaped sachets. Each sachet contains a blend of cacao husks (the shells of the cacao bean), vanilla, and cinnamon bark. Eco packaging, giving the product an eco‑friendly presentation. When the bag is opened the aroma of cacao and cinnamon is immediately apparent, hinting at the chocolate‑like profile that will develop during steeping.For brewing, the recommended method is to pour hot water over the sachet and let it steep for the full 10 minutes, though the tea can also be heated slowly on the stove to intensify the flavor. My wife bought this tea at a market and now I’m a big fan, it’s delicious and it can substitute a heavy dessert as it has sweet, dessert-like notes. Happy my wife found Azomalli!

This team gives you the nice aroma and taste of cacao. The sachets look like you would expect for cacao shells in both color and beauty. The tea it makes is of good quality.With all that said while I appreciate the beauty and color designs of the bag and the quality of the sachets I'm very weary at giving 5 stars to a product that is over $1 per a cup of tea. I'd probably pay closer to 50 cents a tea bag for quality like this but I do recommend this product if you are looking for the cacao taste and don't mind the price

This tea has many good things, like its organic, sustainable and the packaging and tea bags are eco friendly too. Overall a nice product that reflect that on the price. It’s worth it!

This tea was surprisingly good. I wasn't sure what to expect from the mix of cacao, vanilla and cinnamon but I love it.When I first opened the bag I didn't love the scent but after making the tea it smelled amazing. The flavor really captures the chocolate notes. It tastes delicious both with and without sweetener.It is caffeine free, which me and that I can take it before bed to help me relax. Great value for the price!

If you like mexican hot chocolate, you will like this tea. The flavor is a little weak, but I get that its tea, not hot cocoa. Real nice

The only downside to this tea is that it takes a while to steep, and I'm impatient. If you can let it steep for 10 to 15 minutes, it has a really nice flavor, and I enjoy it a lot. It's great with honey!

Lovely and warming tea, I can taste the vanilla and the cinnamon is not overpowering which I like as sometimes cinnamon can be very strong, but not here. Good balance of flavors!

This is a nice herbal tea with a simple 3-ingredient composition. It comes as a plastic pyramid teabag with plastic mesh to dispense 2.5 grams of the ingredients. I can see through the mesh that there are a lot of small chunks in brown color. It is convenient to remove the teabag when you feel the flavor is good enough. I like to have a pretty concentrated drink, so I steepened for a long time. The teabag has a strong alcohol aroma apparently carried from vanilla ingredients. The tea solution, however, has a dominant cinnamon flavor over alcohol. Nevertheless, the combines flavor is nice. It is a little spicy and with a refreshing sensation. It is also nice to go with a meal. Regarding to the health benefits, both cocoa shell and cinnamon bark contain a lot of fibers and antioxidants. They might have additional benefit in digestion and weight control beyond their effects over anti-inflammation.

What a great idea to use the shells instead of discarding them. It’s also very delicious!!
